3 spiritual books our boss loves
Dan Maher has been in the business of publishing spiritual books, gifts and cards for more than 30 years. Together with his wife Suzanne, he has built a business that's all about sharing uplifting messages of hope, love, inspiration, enlightenment, fun, discovery and positivity around the globe. He's definitely read an inspiring book or two! We asked him for his three favourite spiritual books, here are his thoughts:
You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay
Despite the recent controversy, this was a life-changing book for me as it was all about thinking in a new way that I hadn’t experienced. It’s about healing and taking responsibility for your own healing processes. I love that it is filled with thought changing affirmations that, when applied to your thinking and beliefs, produce a more positive outlook and outcome for how you live life.
“Think thoughts that make you happy. Do things that make you feel good. Be with people who make you feel good. Eat things that make your body feel good. Go at a pace that makes you feel good.” Louise Hay
A Guide for the Advanced Soul by Susan Hayward
This is a lovely gift book filled with affirmations and positive messages from all sorts of wise and spiritual thinkers. This book sowed the seed to create a card range with similar messages and was the inspiration that launched our business, Affirmations Publishing. Simple design with elegant calligraphy.
"A Guide for the Advanced Soul is a book of insight to consult in times of indecision and crises to help you understand your questions, and give guidance. Hold a problem in your mind...open this book to any page and there will be your answer." Susan Hayward
Enlightenment - A Journey Through India by Suzanne Maher with photographs by Drew Hopper
India's spiritual heritage is rich and diverse, I love this book because it is filled with beautiful images by a local Coffs Harbour photographer and matched with quotations of timeless wisdom. Open any page of this beautiful spiritual book for the wonderful combination of both.
"At the end of the day, I am at peace because my intentions are good and my heart is pure."
